Dans Glee, on connait les acteurs, les chanteurs, mais il y a aussi les musiciens, qui sont, peut-être injustement, relégués au second plan, souvent en flou. Ce sont pourtant bel et bien des musiciens…Dans la salle de répét’ des New Directions, par exemple, on voit systématiquement le pianiste Brad Ellis, ou un groupe appelé le Mc Kinley Jazz Ensemble… On a eu envie de discuter avec l’un d’entre eux…Mark Nilan Jr, jeune musicien originaire de Detroit s’est prêté au jeu de l’interview. FDS- Mark, tu joues du synthé dans The Mc Kinley Jazz ensemble. C’est quoi exactement ce Jazz ensemble ?

Mark – Nous sommes exactement cela…le Jazz band du lycée McKinley et nous sommes assez étonnants puisque nous connaissons toutes les chansons du monde…!! haha !
FDS – Je pense que vous êtes des vrais musiciens, et non des figurants. Aucune frustration d’être toujours à l’arrière-plan ?
Mark -Oui, nous sommes tous réellement musiciens et aucune frustration ! Je ne me plains pas d’être entouré de gens si talentueux. Tous dans la série sont de grands musiciens, et c’est un rêve de musiciens de s’entourer de gens fabuleux.
FDS – FDS est un blog sur les vêtements. Ne me dis pas que le pull hideux dans “the Power of Madonna” était ton choix. Est-ce vraiment ton style ?
Mark -Lol, non, le style Glee n’est pas du tout mon style, mais je dois dire qu’ils m’ont refilé des pulls assez dingues qui ont suscité pas mal de commentaires déchaînés et désopilants…Toutes les semaines, je suis impatient de découvrir la nouvelle garde-robe qui m’attend.

FDS – Je suppose que Glee n’est pas toute ta vie… parle-moi de tes projets, de tes rêves…

In Glee, we know the actors, the singers, but there are also musicians who are, perhaps unfairly overshadowed, often blurred. Yet it is indeed musicians … In the rehearsal room ‘of New Directions, for example, routinely sees the pianist Brad Ellis or a group called the McKinley Jazz Ensemble… We had wanted to discuss with one of them … Mark Nilan Jr., a young Detroit-born musician played along for the interview.
FDS – You’re the keyboard player in The Mc Kinley Jazz ensemble. What’s exactly this Jazz ensemble ?
Mark -Well we’re exactly that.. we’re the jazz band at McKinley High, and I must say, we’re pretty much amazing…because we know EVERY song in the world…!! haha..
FDS – I think, you are all real musicians, (not extras) in the MKJE…any frustration to be always in the background ?
Mark – Yes, we’re all real musicians and No frustrations at all! I have NO complaints about being surrounded by such talented people. Everyone on the show is a great musician, and it’s always a musicians dream to surround themselves with amazing talent.
FDS -Well, FDS is a blog about clothing. Don’t tell me the ugly jumper in “the Power of Madonna” was your choice. Is that really your style ?
Mark – LOL, no the Glee style is definitely not my personal style, but I must say, they have put me in some crazy sweaters that have received some wild and hilarious reviews by the fans. Every week I look forward to seeing what wardrobe is going to put me in…!
FDS – I suppose Glee is not all your life…Tell me about your current projects…your dreams.
I’m currently producing 2 separate music projects for two young ladies with amazing skills and talent. These projects will be available to the public towards the end of 2011.
